Provincial Volunteer Opportunities


The 2026 Provincial Softball Championship is coming to Terrace, and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this event a success!

Whether you're a dedicated softball supporter, a community volunteer, a service club member, or a youth looking to gain volunteer experience, there's a role for everyone.

Time:    10:00 AM until finished

Location:    Elks Field, Cassie Fields, Rotary Park

Whether you can stay for an hour or the entire day, every helping hand makes a difference

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the Event Set-Up Crew, you'll help transform our ballparks into championship-ready venues by:

  • Setting up tents, signage, fencing, and event equipment

  • Preparing team, spectator, and event spaces

  • Assisting with final site preparations to ensure everything is ready for opening day

  • Helping create a welcoming championship experience for athletes, coaches, officials, and fans

Field Maintenance Crew

  • Drag and line fields before games
  • Maintain bases and pitching areas
  • Monitor field conditions
  • Assist with field preparation and repairs

Field Prep Assistant (Youth Volunteer Opportunity)

  • Pick up litter and debris around playing fields and common areas
  • Assist with tidying dugouts and team areas
  • Carry light supplies and equipment
  • Support field crews with general event preparation
This role is ideal for youth volunteers looking to gain experience and contribute to the tournament. All tasks will be age-appropriate. If additional supervision or support is required, a parent, guardian, or support person must remain with the volunteer during their shift.
 

 Groundskeeping & Clean-Up Crew

  • Help keep facilities clean, safe, and welcoming
  • Monitor washroom cleanliness and supplies
  • Empty garbage, recycling, and returnable bins
  • Tidy dugouts and spectator areas

Information Table & Fundraising Volunteers

  • Welcome teams and visitors
  • Provide event information and schedules
  • Assist with merchandise and fundraising initiatives
  • Promote fundraising activities and support prize draws

First Aid Volunteers

  • Provide basic first aid support as required
  • Respond to minor injuries and incidents
  • Assist with player, volunteer, and spectator safety
  • Coordinate with emergency services when necessary
Every volunteer makes a difference. Your support will help create an outstanding championship experience for athletes, coaches, officials, families, and spectators from across British Columbia while showcasing the hospitality and community spirit of Terrace.
